Jamaican Blue Mountain
How does one know if what you receive is 100% Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee? Aside from quality this was our primary concern in pursuing JBM. “There is no regulation in the United States that prohibits roasters from selling coffee that isn’t Jamaica Blue Mountain under the Jamaica Blue Mountain label,” says Mr. Edgar Munn (Mr. Munn is Drake’s supplier) and continues, “There is not even a minimum quantity of pure Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee that must be added to be called a Jamaica Blue Mountain blend.” So how do you know you’re getting 100% JBM coffee? Mr. Edgar Munn provided certified documentation that allowed us to match lot numbers between the coffee package and documents – this assured us that we received 100% JBM from the Mavis Bank Central Factory. Your guarantee is our desire for you to experience a dream cup of coffee and that cup will be 100% JBM.

Panama - Hacienda la Esmeralda, 2006
Simply put this coffee is special. Our broker in Seattle was able to obtain the same bean that won Best of Panama 2006 and set auction records of over $50/lb. After selling out our first shipment within one week we ordered more just before the supply sold out. Not only did this grower place first in 2006, but also in ’04 & ’05 – no other grower has created such a buzz in the coffee world!
The response from our first customers supported the prestigious claims – “amazing citrus & floral notes” was the common description.
Is it worth $25 for half-pound? Based on a yield of 12 strong cups, the cost of just over $2 per cup for an award winning, “Best Of” coffee is justified.

Hawaiian Kona - Captain Cook
Certified 100% Kona coffee by the State of Hawaii Agriculture Department, this Kona coffee is purchased from the Captain Cook Company which has been growing coffee on the island of Kona since the late 1880’s. One does not have to be a serious connoisseur to know that the Kona Island grows world renowned coffee.
Like many of our coffees, the Kona bean is roasted very light to capture all the qualities; the aroma is intensely rich, first sip fills your senses with full bodied flavor that has a very pleasant finish.
This Kona coffee is rated Extra Fancy and comes with a high price & expectations – we believe the cup justifies both.

Guatemala - Finca Vista Hermosa Estate Grown - Huehuetenango Region
Exceptional! The best morning coffee we have ever tasted. We began purchasing this world class bean directly from FVH in 2004 and have continued through the 2006 crop. We are very proud to offer this coffee. Edwin Martinez is a third generation owner who has established FVH an ecologically sound and healthy coffee farm, a model for many shade grown and organic plantations.
Roaster notes: sweet powerful aroma, excellent brightness, medium body, smooth chocolate bottom with brilliant upfront fruit tones, very clean.

Hondura - Certified Transfair & Organic Grown
Centrally located in Central America, bordering top quality coffee growing countries Guatemala, El Savadore and Nicaragua is Honduras. Even with excellent climate conditions and optimum altitude, Honduras has neglected the speciality coffee market until recently. This is Drake’s first offering of Honduras coffee and most likely your first chance of experiencing a cup that has deep flavor with a heavier body than it’s more popular neighbors. |

Panama Maunier Estate
Drake’s Roasting is proud to announce another award winning estate coffee from The Best of Panama 2007 auction held this past May – Panama Maunier Estate Coffee.
With out a doubt Panama is/has been producing world class coffee; the rich volcanic soil, high altitude, ideal consistent weather allows the grower perfect conditions.
We roast this incredible bean just into the second crack; light city roast. There are no flaws in the cup that I can find; the taste is obvious floral notes; very well balanced; sweetness; pleasant throughout the temperature range. This is definitely a sit down/relax coffee.

Colombia Monserrate
Monserrate is a community of 28 families some two hours down a bumpy dirt road from La Plata located in the Huila Region of Colombia. Each family has its own de-pulping and fermentation set up, along with raised drying screens protected from the rain by parabolic roofs of transparent plastic. Since every family contributes coffee for export, each fermentation and drying process has to be done perfectly, or it could compromise the entire shipment. Happily, the whole community takes great pride in their work, and the results show very nicely in the cup.
This coffee is a very nice Colombia; has sweet juicy citrus notes and great body.

Hondura Certified Organic & Fair Trade - Decaffeinated Swiss Water¨ Process
